Southern & Western Morocco

Striped Hyaena Research Project is the conservation plan dedicated to the striped hyaena (Hyaena hyaena); one of the four most endangered hyaena species. The recovery species plan includes a study on the Berber hyaena (H. h. barbara) in the collective perception and the related Conservation status survey. The project focus on the increasement of the striped hyaena protection measures in Morocco to subsequently be used as a pilot project to be applied in Ethiopia. The project is accompanied by maps illustrating the Conservation status of the target species in the concerned territories.

Central & Southern Ethiopia

Maps illustrate the study areas and the sighting records of the target species in the two countries based on conservation surverys carried out over the years.
